Great starter book

If you have no clue what the LSAT is all about and need an introduction, this is the book for you. It helps to alleviate whatever fear or trepidation one may have of the exam. It makes it so that you know the LSAT is doable.
Additionally, the CD that accompanies the book provides additional insights and other information relating to law school application.

However, if you have had little practice or at least know what to expect in the exam, then this book is definitely NOT for you. This, because the book teaches at very rudimentary level, employing questions that are simplistic and are therefore not real LSAT questions.

If your goal is preparation weeks before the exam, then you are better of studying 'The Official LSAT SuperPrep and practicing on past LSAT exam questions.

It is a well thought out and organized book, nonetheless.

Juan Doria, Author of "The Slacker's Guide to Law School: Success Without Stress"

I'm a big fan of Canada, and in the past, I've had good experiences visiting its major cities and skiing its slopes. I've also had the good fortune of having some dear Canadian friends. When I was in law school, one of them recommended I read "So You Want to be a Lawyer, Eh?" by Adam Letourneau. The clever title alone was enough for me to want to read it.

It is a very accomplished book - well written and organized. Canadian law students are lucky that it is available, and from what I've seen, it appears to be unchallenged as Canada's ultimate guide to law school. It would be a useful prerequisite for anyone entering law school in Canada.

Yet I would recommend it to American law students as well. The most I got out of it was an interesting comparative look at what our colleagues from the North have to suffer through. But, though there are some key differences in the Canadian and American systems, there are even more similarities, and as the book goes on, it's easy to forget that the action is taking place north of the border. Just because the title says "eh" at the end of it, it would be a mistake for American law students to think the book is not applicable to them.

A good, useful book for anyone who wants to be a lawyer; Canuck or otherwise.

Great If You Don't Care About Your Score

Ugh. I am giving two stars because it comes with practice exams. Not worth $25. Spend extra for Powerscore, it is much better, it tells you how to eliminate wrong answers, manage time, check your answers, etc. This book is way to general and broad. I honestly don't think this book is helping me improve my score at all. Powerscore, McGraw Hill Logic Games (2nd edition), and 10 Actual LSAT books are what I recommend. We will see about Kaplan's 180 which I also have...

Analytical part is awful

The explanation and examples of the analytical part are mediocre at best; the truth is that they are no help at all: they will merely confuse you more. However. the logical/reading comp. sections are not as bad.

Fantastic Review Book

I've always hated logic games and I needed a lot of practice before my LSAT. This book was a God-send. I remember taking the test and seeing almost identical problems on it that were in this book, remembering the step-by-step explanations, and feeling great about nearly every answer. I felt extremely confident after taking my LSAT, and it was all thanks to this book. I cannot recommend it enough.
