Fantastic!

I am a BIG fan of power score products. I utilized this series for GMAT and now for LSAT and each time I saw results. I am fortunate to have a small budget to purchase these basic prep books and followed a stringent 3 month self study plan (I didn't have 1500 to spend on a professional prep program) and I did well on the test. It takes focus , discipline and great prep books, such as POWER SCORE! Logic Games can be scary...the first time I did a pre test I almost cried when I tried to do a LG but after getting through this book LGs became somewhat fun and toward the end of my studying they were a relief from all that READING for the rest of the LSAT sections. This book is a life saver...for anyone who seems LG as a struggle...I have worked through all the other prep books out there and hands down this is the ONLY book worth its weight for LG. I also recommend buying the workbook (white cover). Work your way through the bible do a few lsac preptests then mid-way through your plan work through the workbook as a refresher.

Great Study Guide

This is a very helpful product. I feel the sample test as well as the tips in the beginning of the book were very helpful. I was able to chart my progress and decide what I needed improvement on. I would recommend this study guide in addition to others as well. This book is great for generalized testing. If you need specific targeted assistance for various types of test questions I would recommend a more specific book that targets those questions.

Like the product, not the service

I really like the book itself, it contaims hundreds of useful tips, it's great to have this item as one of your exam prep books. However, thank God, my test is in June and I ordered it Feb 6th, since I received it almost a whole month later - March 1st!!

The Best

These books are the most inexpensive source of real LSATs to study from. In addition, they also contain several sample comparative reading comprehension passages and questions, which were introduced in June 2007. I haven't seen a better source for practice of these types of questions.

Some will say that these tests vary significantly from the more recent tests. While I agree with this statement, the underlying foundation of logic and reasoning is the same.

Simply put, these books are a must-have for any LSAT prep.

Must have

I started this book after having completed all the PowerScore LSAT bibles and it was a good starting point to "try out" the PS techniques on real lsat questions. This book has 3 prep tests along w/ explanations and answers. After PowerScores great info I felt that the tips section of this book was lacking but not a waste of time, simply not in depth enough for me. This is a good practice book and I truly appreciated that the question difficulty was noted, which helped me better gauge my level of understanding. Must have!

Nice and CURRENT!

if you are prep'n for LSAT and tight on cash...save your pennies to put toward the most recent lsat preptest's! I was able to purchase most tests from 28-58 and there is a big difference between older and more current tests, well at least in my opinion! I say if you are testing in 2010 you should really try to purchase 48 forward or at a min. purchase 55 forward. The more preptests you work through the more familiar you get with LSAC's wording, format, and "tricks." NO there are no repeat questions but boy are there sure close copies!! They love to repeat certain subjects and certain argument structures...so well worth your time and money to review this stuff!

Grammar mistakes in a book on reading comprehension?

I think this book has a lot of good value in it and could really help someone struggling with the reading comp. section of the LSAT. But by page 125, I had found at least 5 errors in grammar and labeling on the part of the writer which was REALLY distracting. There was one place where belief should have been used where believe was... Anyway, I just had to post a review because I was so annoyed. I paid a lot for this book and it's got simple mistakes that the editor should have caught.

Not particularly useful

This book breaks down issues you'll find on exams categorically. Then you can study each category and learn to spot similar issues on exams (the idea is that you can develop strategies to handle each issue). This is all great. The unfortunate thing is that these categories overlap and are... somewhat arbitrary. I follow the "forks in the facts" vs "forks in the law" distinction, factual issues vs legal issues. But then the categorization gets taken to excess with divisions and subdivisions of categories. "Twin forks". Etc. I suppose my biggest concern is that anyone who did well enough on the LSAT likely can see the legal issues themselves. People think differently. Restricting yourself to this formalization that the authors constructed might actually detract you from seeing the obvious. It will certainly take up valuable study time to memorize these categories and how to spot them, with very limited utility. On the up side, there are sample problems at the end of the book, and some sample questions throughout. Although some of them seem to require specific legal knowledge, which isn't particularly useful to you if you're a first year student just starting out.
